Rokatisha's Border Collies

In the Autumn/Winter of 2012 we hope to breed again with Floss. We don't know yet which studdog we are going to ask.

Our breeding:

We only breed if we want another Border Collie for ourselves. A Border Collie where we can sport a lot with. For us this sport is mostly Herding. And a Border Collie where we can also so to speak sit on the couch with in the evening. We try to breed puppies that are as healthy as possible. Border Collies that have a stable caracter and show a lot of will to work and will to please. We breed from pure working lines. We seek parentdogs from which we have the feeling that they have all the above in them.

In 2006 and 2008 we had a litter with Rose. From these litters we kept Pucca and Floss. In 2009 we had a litter with Maggie. We kept Cytie from that litter. And we had a litter in 2011 with Floss from which we held Lass.

We think Border Collies are fantastic dogs. But we do think we need to warn everybody. Border Collies are full of energy and are very smart. For these caracteristics they are best known. But they need to have a life where they can express that energy and smartness. So when we search for people for our puppies, we look for very enthousiastic and sportive people. The Border Collie is a great familypet and is a good companion for in your house. Only then when he is able to release this energy. Our dogs and our litters live with us inside our house.

We are members of the Dutch Border Collie Club and follow the breeding rules of the club. All our dogs with which we breed meet with the requirements of the club. These requirements are the health issues on the eyes and hips. And the exterior and herdingskills. Beside that we find it important to test our dogs through DNA on CEA/CH and TNS.
